Weight Management Evaluation in Kansas City

A weight management evaluation at KC Psychiatry & Primary Care is designed for adults who want a careful medical and psychiatric review of weight changes, appetite, eating patterns, medication effects, mood, sleep, stress, and metabolic health. Dr. Asif Uddin provides weight-management evaluation for patients in Kansas City, Kansas, Missouri, and surrounding communities.

Weight concerns are often connected to more than diet or exercise alone. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, sleep problems, chronic stress, hormonal changes, medical conditions, and psychiatric medications can all affect appetite, energy, cravings, weight gain, weight loss, and the ability to maintain healthy routines. This evaluation looks at the full clinical picture so recommendations are practical and medically appropriate.

During the evaluation, Dr. Uddin reviews your weight history, medical history, psychiatric history, current medications, prior medication trials, sleep, appetite, activity level, stress, mood, attention, eating patterns, family history, and any prior lab results. When appropriate, he may recommend lab work, medication adjustments, nutrition-related planning, primary care follow-up, or additional medical evaluation.

This service may be helpful for patients who have gained weight after starting or changing medication, are concerned about metabolic side effects, struggle with emotional eating or appetite changes, or want medical guidance before beginning a structured weight-management plan. It may also be useful when weight concerns overlap with depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood symptoms, fatigue, or sleep disruption.

Because Dr. Uddin provides both psychiatric and primary care support, weight-management planning can be coordinated with broader health needs through comprehensive psychiatric and primary care. Patients whose weight concerns are related to mood, anxiety, focus, sleep, or medication questions may also benefit from a psychiatric evaluation.

KC Psychiatry & Primary Care does not accept insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, federal, or commercial insurance plans. The practice is self-pay, and pricing is reviewed before scheduling so patients understand costs in advance.

Appointments are available for adults in Kansas and Missouri. Some follow-up care may be available through telemedicine psychiatry services when clinically appropriate. To request a weight management evaluation, visit the schedule appointment page.

Follow-up visit pricing depends on the type and length of care needed after the evaluation. Follow-up may include weight-management monitoring, medication review, lab review, symptom tracking, treatment-plan adjustments, metabolic-risk discussion, or coordination with psychiatric and primary care needs. Pricing is reviewed before scheduling.
